Ekaterina Ilyukhina (born June 19, 1987) is a Russian snowboarder. She specializes in the parallel giant slalom and the parallel slalom events.

She represents Russia at the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver, and on home soil during the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia. She won the silver medal to Nicolien Sauerbreij of the Netherlands during the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.

Early life

Ilyukhina was born in Novosibirsk, Soviet Union on June 19, 1987. Ilyukhina started snowboarding at an unknown age. She is 5 ft 2 in (1.57 m) tall and weighs 132 lbs (60 kg).

Olympic Results

She has been on the national alpine snowboarding team since after the 2006 Winter Olympics in Torino. She was too young to qualify for Salt Lake City 2002. Ilyukhina lost in the 2010 parallel giant slalom gold medal and final to Netherlands' Nicolien Sauerbreij; which is the first Dutch medal outside skating.

During the Sochi 2014 Winter Olympic Games, she was the 9th fastest qualifier in the parallel giant slalom. In the round of 16 she lost the courses to Caroline Calvé of Canada. She posted the fourth slowest time in the parallel slalom, behind Aleksandra Krol of Poland, Nina Micic of Serbia and Valeriya Tsoy of Kazakhstan.
