Saudi Arabia is a country in the Middle East and western Asia. It borders the United Arab Emirates, Oman, Yemen, Qatar, Jordan, Egypt by the ocean and Iraq.

The Saudi Arabia national football team qualified for the FIFA World Cup five times; from 1994 to 2006 and again in the 2018 FIFA World Cup. Saudi Arabia only has two wins in FIFA World Cup, in their debut in 1994; upsetting the odds against Belgium. In the round of 16, they lost to eventual semifinalists and bronze medal winners Sweden. The team would be eliminated from the tournament in the group stage in their next three appearances.

Their heaviest defeat in the World Cup was a 8-0 loss to Germany in 2002. Saudi Arabia, along with China and France, were the only teams to not score a 2002 FIFA World Cup goal.
