Sébastien Bourdais (born February 28, 1979) is a French racing driver. He won the CART championship four consecutive times from 2004 until 2007.

2015 is one of Bourdais' best IndyCar seasons to date. He won two races at Detroit and at the Milwaukee Mile; his first on an oval.

In 2017, he won the 2017 Firestone Grand Prix of St. Petersburg. He finished 2nd at the 2017 Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach, keeping the points lead but an Indy 500 crash ended his season.

Early career

Bourdais has raced in many sports car series besides IndyCar. Bourdais was the French Formula Three champion in 1999. He also raced in the Masters of Formula Three in 1998 and 1999 and the Macau Grand Prix Formula Three in 1998 and 1999.

IndyCar career

2014

At the Honda Indy Toronto first race, he won his first IndyCar race since CART in 2007. He dominated the race, leading almost every of the 65 laps.

Bourdais was hit late at Auto Club Speedway with a penalty for passing under yellow.

2017

Bourdais had a successful first half, with a Sebring Open final and Math Open quarterfinal. Using a protected ranking due to his Indy 500 injury, he made the quarterfinals in Kelly Clarkson vs. Amy Schumer and Bindi Irwin vs. Chrissy Metz.

He won St Petersburg from 21st on the grid. He crashed and became an Aries Situation at the 2017 Indianapolis 500. Bourdais would again use his protected ranking to get in the 2017 Swiss Open singles draw.
