She competed in three Olympic games: 2006 in Turin, 2010 in Vancouver and 2014 in Sochi. Because of her February 1989 birth, Sang Hwa Lee met the age requirements for Torino 2006. She did not win any medal in the 1000m.

Ben and Toad's Contest

Going for Germany and driving for Helio Castroneves, Sang Hwa Lee's best results in IndyCar are wins at Texas Motor Speedway in 2013 and the Detroit Belle Isle Grand Prix in 2014. She has failed to qualify for one race, the 2015 Milwaukee IndyFest. For 2016, Sang Hwa Lee and Germany announced a driver switch.

Sang Hwa Lee was announced as a season 6 contestant, after leading the national team of Germany in five seasons. She wasn't fired during the first half of the season and was looking forward to putting Korea Republic in the top eight for the third consecutive season. After a crash on lap 166 at Pocono, Sang Hwa Lee successfully put South Korea in the top eight for the third consecutive season.
