2014 French Open junior winner

Daria Kasatkina (formerly known as Darya Kasatkina; born May 7, 1997) is a Russian tennis player.

Kasatkina's career-highlights include a third round appearance at both the 2015 US Open and the 2016 Australian Open. She also made the fourth round of the 2017 US Open. In 2018, she was the runner-up at Indian Wells to Naomi Osaka, knowing that a title would have sent her into the top ten for the first time. Also that year, she won the Kremlin Cup and became Russia's first top ten player since 2017.

She won the junior French Open in 2014, defeating Serbian Ivana Jorovic (who was born days before her) in the final; just days before the World Cup. After winning the 2014 French Open, Kasatkina decided to play the senior tour instead of playing the junior 2014 Wimbledon Championships.

2015: First Grand Slam and top 100

She made it to the third round of the 2015 US Open as a lucky loser. She lost in the third round to the hands of eventual quarterfinalist Kristina Mladenović.

2016: Top 50

Her 2016 started well, as her first top ten win was against Venus Williams at Auckland. At the 2016 Australian Open, she made her second consecutive Grand Slam third round, but lost to Serena Williams and winning only two games.

Her dream of being a French Open seeded player continued at Indian Wells. She lost to Pliskova in the quarterfinals.
